Following the SEM-WDS analysis carried out on 4/9/2018 at I.G.M.E. in the presence of the Head of the Department of Mineralogy Mr. G. Economou, 3 new types of uranium minerals are officially added to the numerous list of Lavrion mines.
These 3 new species belong to the category of uranium minerals and were discovered by Syrigos Dimitrios in November 2015.
In detail, the following were identified:
Crusts containing Chadwickite microcrystals
Boltwoodite (Boltwoodite) radial clusters in gypsum crystals
Uranospinite (Uranospinite) radial clusters in gypsum matrix rock
It continues and has much more to offer this rich subsoil to the history of this city.
We wish everyone good luck and good discoveries!
